Such a simple water-repellent coating is very popular in the autumn-spring period, when it is impossible to walk hundreds of meters, so as not to accidentally fall into a puddle.

Materials

And so, to make your shoes waterproof you will need only two things that are 99% available in every home:
  • This is a hair dryer
  • And an ordinary paraffin candle.

Water-repellent coating of shoes

Shoes must be clean and completely dry before coating. Depends on how well the coating layer lies.
Now we take a candle in our hand and rub it abundantly over the entire surface of the shoe.

We rub well on all sides. If there are small gaps, then it is especially walked several times, preferably directly along these gaps. We also strenuously pass seams and other joints.

The paraffin coating rubbed with a candle should be very clearly visible.

Next, take a hair dryer, turn it on at maximum temperature. We set the air speed to a minimum. And we begin by this heat to warm the entire surface where paraffin was applied.

We warm up from all sides.

During this heat treatment, paraffin melts and is absorbed into the surface, seams and gaps, thereby sealing the entire surface.
In the process of heating, the effect and coating can be enhanced by additionally rubbing the candle into a heated surface.

Continue drying until the paraffin is completely absorbed into the shoes.
