Over time, scale forms on the heating element of the electric kettle, which not only spoils the appearance, but can also lead to burnout of this heat-generating part. The fact is that the scum layer has low thermal conductivity, as a result, the thermal energy released by the heating element overheats itself, and it fails.

Is it possible to get rid of scale in an electric kettle in any simple and affordable way at home without complicated manipulations and special tools? This is quite possible if you use vinegar essence or table vinegar of 9% strength, which is safer.

Descaling procedure for the kettle

Pour 9% vinegar, about 100-150 ml, from a bottle into an empty teapot.

We dilute it with a certain amount of water so that the resulting mixture of vinegar and water completely covers the heating element to be cleaned.

We connect the power cord of the device to an electrical outlet. We wait for the moment of boiling the contents of the kettle and maintain the boiling mode until it automatically turns off.

For some time we leave the situation unchanged so that the mixture of water and vinegar heated to boiling completely removes the scum.

We are convinced visually and mentally that the purification happened by comparing the appearance of the heating element "before" and "after".
It remains only to pour the contents of the kettle and rinse it several times with clean water. To completely remove the smell of vinegar, you can fill the kettle, bring to a boil and pour.

In this way, not only electric but also any kettles, as well as dishes in which water is boiled, are cleaned of scale.

Summary remark

When cleaning an electric kettle, it is important to keep the ratio between vinegar and water. If the concentration of the mixture is low, then complete purification will not occur, if it exceeds a certain limit, damage or even destruction of some elements of the dishes is possible.
It follows from the following proportions: for each liter of water, add one tablespoon of vinegar essence or 100-150 grams of 9% table vinegar. The concentration of such a mixture will be optimal for cleaning dishes.
