Natural stones are often used to decorate an artificial pond (pond) or design a mini waterfall on a site.

But what if they are not available? In this case, you can make decorative stones that will imitate natural ones.

For this, the author uses a cement-sand mortar. The proportions are as follows: 1 bucket of cement, 2 buckets of sand and a bag of tile glue.

Our stones are “casted” from the finished solution. When the mortar dries a little, with the help of a chisel, screwdriver or other improvised tools we give the workpiece the desired texture.

Everything is done here “by eye” - no templates should be used. Do as you like. Do not be afraid to experiment.

Decorative stone painting

Before painting, the stone will need to be primed. And you can not wait until the primer dries - right on the fresh, we immediately begin to apply the base color.

Using a foam sponge, first apply white. The basic color you need to try to smooth out all the sharp dark transitions.

Again, without waiting until the layer of white paint dries, apply a second layer of light brown color. It must not be used on the entire surface of the stone, but in separate places.

Then, using black, the author makes small dark transitions.

Black can also paint cracks and scratches on the surface of the stone. Then with a sponge we remove all unnecessary.
