Surely, many still have armchairs from the times of the USSR somewhere — some in the country, others in the garage. Why not give the old battered chair a new life by remaking it in a bench or sofa?
There is an idea, the goal is clear - now we proceed to its implementation. First, you will need to completely disassemble the chair. With the help of pliers, a screwdriver and a wrench, this will not be difficult.
From the whole chair you will need only two side panels with armrests, as well as two side parts of the wooden frame. Previously, the frame itself will need to be carefully disassembled.
The main stages of work
The side parts of the frame must be securely fastened together. The author uses wooden dowels and nails for this. Then the workpiece must be sanded.
At the next stage, you need to tidy up the sides of the chair with armrests. If they are shaken, then it is necessary to strengthen. Then, using sandpaper, the author removes the varnish.
After this, it is necessary to cut three wooden bars into size, and connect with the previously prepared side panels from the old chair. The result was the frame of the future sofa.
Then it will be necessary to cut more wooden bars, which must be nailed to the frame. It is also advisable to use carpentry glue for a more secure fastening.
In the end, it remains only to paint the wooden frame with white or some other paint. You can use the resulting piece of furniture as a bench, as well as a sofa - you just need to buy or make soft pillows on your own.
