Of the old metal scissors, which, for sure, can be found in every workshop or garage (or you can buy them inexpensively at the metal collection point), you will get a cool knife. And not even one, but two!
And the first thing you need to disassemble the scissors, separating one half from the other. Then the workpieces will need to be cleaned with a grinder or on a grinder.
Next, cut off all the excess. Then the author heats the workpieces in the furnace and slightly flattenes part of the handle on the anvil, giving it the desired shape.
Knife making process
At the next stage of work, part of the handle needs to be cut off (but it does not need to be thrown out - it will be used in the manufacturing process of the knife handle). The knife blank itself must be processed on the grinder.
After that, the master works with the shank. It needs to be heated in the furnace, and then the necessary shape is given to the workpiece. This will be the bottom of the knife handle.
Further, the author performs the fitting of all parts, grinding the knife and sharpening the blade. Then in the handle it will be necessary to drill holes for rivets. Between the lower and upper parts of the knife handle you need to put a strip of brass.
Then it remains only to connect the two parts of the handle with rivets and completely modify the knife. The blade is tempered and tempered. And if desired, you can process the product in a solution of ferric chloride.
