In order to prepare dinner for a large company on a hike or on a picnic, it is not necessary to carry a field kitchen with you on the road. You can do with a universal taganka made of a piece of steel pipe and a hammer.

According to the author, this design will be even much better and more convenient than a portable barbecue. On such a home-made taganka it will be possible to easily place a kettle, a cauldron and a frying pan. Thus, you will spend less time preparing a delicious dinner.

Of the basic materials for the manufacture of a home-made “tripod” (or rack), two pieces of steel pipe, a metal rod, an old hammer, a strip of metal 40 mm wide are required.

First of all, it will be necessary to cut the workpieces to size and clean them with a grinder with a petal circle. Then three pieces 40 mm long (along the width of the metal strip) must be cut from a pipe of larger diameter.

The main stages of work

At the next stage of work, you need to trim the nose of the hammer on the wedge. Then the hammer itself will need to be cut into separate parts - to make a home-made taganka you only need a wedge-shaped nose and hammer.

One of the pipe segments 40 mm long must be cut into two parts along. And in the two remaining pipe sections, you will need to make small slots for the diameter of the steel bar.

Further, the author performs welding work. At the ends of the pipe, you need to weld the sock and hammer head, and then to the pipe itself - also pieces of steel round bar.
