If you prefer to wash your “horse” yourself (near the garage or at home), then try in practice the safest - non-contact method of washing a car, which is performed using a foam generator.

Moreover, it is not necessary to spend money on the purchase of an expensive device. The simplest foam generator for washing a car can be made with your own hands from an old fire extinguisher. Nothing complicated here, the main thing, as they say, would be desire.

So, to build a home-made steam generator, you will need an old fire extinguisher, which you can buy for a penny at almost any metal intake, clamps, a fitting, a faucet for adjusting air. A 90 degree retraction will also be required. As an alternative, you can use a tee by installing a plug on it.

The main stages of work

To make a foamy “pill” for washing a car, you will need an ordinary kitchen washcloth for washing dishes. It is better to use stainless steel, since the usual metal quickly rusts. Alternatively, you can also use a washcloth made of fishing line. The washcloth itself is inserted into a metal tube (stainless steel).

In the upper part of the fire extinguisher (along the edges of the housing), two through holes with a diameter of 14 mm need to be drilled. A “nipple” with a nipple is installed in one hole, and a 90-degree outlet (or tee with a plug) for air to escape in the other. Then we collect the remaining elements and stuff the washcloth into the tube.

At the last stage of work, we assemble all units of the unit. Details on how to make a homemade foam generator for washing a car from an old fire extinguisher can be seen in the video on the website.
