To make the exterior walls of the house original and unusual, it is enough to use decorative plaster for their design. The "artistic painting" of walls with such plaster is usually done with a spatula. However, if you use a simple paint roller for this, the work will go faster.
It is clear that a regular smooth roller will not be able to roughen the surface of the wall. Therefore, it is necessary to “modernize” the tool a bit so that the roller turns from ordinary to textured - it is in that quality that it can create a figured impression on the surface of the walls.
The main stages of work
To make a textured roller for applying decorative plaster on the walls with your own hands, you will need a regular paint roller, strips of leather and several screws. It is not necessary to run to the store and buy a new roller - the old one will do. The main thing is that the roller is wide.
A piece of leather (or, for example, a leather belt) needs to be cut into long strips 8-10 mm wide. We fix two strips at the base of the roller and then weave a "pigtail". On the other edge of the roller, the ends of the leather strips also need to be fixed with screws.
