To make round sticks (for example, for the manufacture of dowels or parts for other crafts), it is not at all necessary to have a lathe and a stationary drilling machine - a simple power drill and a simple home-made device, which is often called a shank cutter, are enough.

It should be noted that today on the Internet you can find the most diverse designs of conductors for the manufacture of round sticks. In this review, we will consider one of the simplest options for homemade shantorez, which can be made in just half an hour.

The main stages of work

To make a universal conductor for round sticks, you need a piece of a rectangular steel plate about 2-3 cm thick (using thinner metal is not recommended). Three holes of different diameters need to be drilled in the plate - for example, 20, 16 and 10 mm.

Three more holes of smaller diameter need to be drilled along the edges of the main holes, however, they should not be through (in other words, small recesses should appear around the main holes). Then the surface of the conductor must be sanded with a grinder with a petal circle.

An alternative option for manufacturing a "home" universal conductor for round sticks is available here.

At the last stage, we weld two plates to the bottom of the conductor (in one of the plates you need to drill a hole and weld a nut) - with this fastening, a homemade shkantorez will be attached to the edge of the table or workbench.
