Batman's Boomerang is a fascinating "toy" that will appeal to both children and adults. However, not all self-made models are able to fly long distances, not to mention the fact that many simply do not return, and you have to spend a lot of time searching for the lost "flying projectile".
In this article we will tell you how to make a truly “smart” and “obedient” Batman boomerang at home, which will not fly away in an unknown direction and will not be lost. The basis for a boomerang is ordinary plywood - this is a light and quite durable material, which is also not very expensive.
Making a returning wooden boomerang
First of all, you need to draw a boomerang wing shape on paper. If you can’t draw by hand, you can download a ready-made template from the Internet. Then we cut out a paper template and transfer the contours of the two halves of the wing onto a pre-prepared sheet of plywood.
Then we fasten the plywood with clamps to the table, take a jigsaw (or use a manual one) and carefully cut the boomerang, trying to guide the canvas strictly along the drawn line. The workpiece is clamped in a vice, after which the edges are processed with a flat file.
The surface of the boomerang is sanded with sandpaper. Along the edges with a drill or manually, it is necessary to remove a small chamfer. Then the finished boomerang of Batman will only have to be painted, and you can go to the field to have fun. It flies just fine!
