If you correctly select accessories for the home fireplace, which are intended for maintenance, you get an original decoration of the interior of the house. The most convenient and practical is a set of poker, brushes and dustpan, which are placed on a stand with a rack (such a fireplace stand is also called a servitor).

You can make an original forged set for your home fireplace with your own hands - such a design will definitely turn out to be much more interesting, and it will be cheaper compared to tools that are sold in stores. For the stand, sheet metal 2 mm thick is suitable, and other accessories can be made of a steel square or round timber.

Making a stand and tools

First, a blank in the form of a circle with three "petals" needs to be cut from sheet metal. We heat it in the hearth, and then beat it off with a hammer on the anvil, giving it the desired shape. A small depression is made in the center of the circle, and small curls are at the edges of the “petals”. After that, a vertical stand with three legs is made.

For the legs, round rods are used, at the end of which curls are made, as on the mantelpiece itself. The edges of the legs are bent in a semicircle, and then the rods are clamped in a vice and twisted together into a "braid". The result is an original stand with stand.

At the next stage, the basic tools for servicing the home fireplace are made - poker, brush and dustpan. These accessories are also made from a round bar, but in this case elements of art forging are already used.
