With a simple DIY tool for a grinder, you can assemble a mini-machine for cutting metal at a right angle. Among the main advantages of this design, in addition to low cost, it should also be noted the compact size and low weight, as well as ease of use.
To make this simple but useful homemade product, you will need pieces of a steel strip about 10 mm thick, a rectangular sheet of metal with a thickness of 6-8 mm, a small piece of an equal-shelf corner, as well as two pieces of a plate and fasteners.
Making a machine from angle grinder: work stages
First of all, it is necessary to make a movable mechanism to which the angle grinder will be attached. This will require a steel strip of suitable length. On one side we drill a hole for attaching to the grinder gear housing, and on the other - at a distance of 8-10 cm from the edge, we weld an elongated nut. We screw a bolt into it, on which two plates are attached.
The vertical racks of the movable mechanism (from two steel plates) are welded to the metal sheet from the outside, and from the inside we fasten by stiffening the ribs. Between the plates and on the strip itself, you need to weld one nut each, which are connected to each other using a spring.
We attach the grinder to the assembled structure and additionally fix the case with a clamp. Next, we weld a corner to the table surface at a right angle with respect to the angle grinder cutting disc.
