I don’t know how much a smartphone docking station costs in communication shops, I have never been interested, but making such a device myself, in my opinion, is as easy as shelling pears! Indeed, in fact, this is an ordinary stand, so that the phone does not lie anywhere, and does not scratch the table, or other surfaces, its case and screen. Of course, docking stations come with different functions. Some are intended only for recharging a mobile device, others have a keyboard and mouse, while others only play the role of a regular stand. One way or another, to assemble a decent-looking stand with the recharging function, from the improvised and practically unnecessary junk to anyone, there will be almost no labor and financial costs.

Will need

As a basis, a plastic case from some small device (I took the case from an old wi-fi router).
Seconds glue.
Soda (ordinary, food).
Plastic, for the back of the dock, with a thickness of 2-3 mm.
Aluminum, 1 mm thick.
Boxes for wiring (lower part) 15-20 centimeters.
File (flat or square).
USB cable - microUSB.
Scissors.
Burner or soldering iron.

First, we will prepare everything necessary for work and see the parameters of the phone in its user manual. There should be a column "Device Characteristics" where the parameters are written - length, width, thickness. If you didn’t find it, just take measurements with a standard ruler, albeit not with perfect accuracy; hundredths and tenths of a millimeter do not matter in this matter ... We will stick to these data in future work.

Making a charging station for a smartphone

First of all, with the help of a burner, you need to cut out a plastic plate for the back of the docking station, on which the charging phone will later lie. For this purpose, I cut a piece of plastic from the case of an inoperative laptop, with the logo of the same company as my phone. Cut the plate according to the parameters of the phone. There is a slight subtlety; it is not necessary to cut the back along the entire length of the phone, it can be shorter, but not less than half the length. The main thing in this moment is the width. Here it should be a couple of millimeters more than the width of the phone. Now grease the reverse side of the cut-out plate with plenty of glue and apply it to a pre-prepared sheet of aluminum. We put it under the press for ten minutes so that the planes adhere to each other as close and tight as possible.

After the specified time, we take out the tightly glued workpieces from under the press and cut off the excess sticking fields of the aluminum plate with scissors.

Now we will make phone holders that will hold it on the back in a certain position, not letting it fall. Holders will be made from the bottom of the wiring box. They are perfect for this purpose. Cut two pieces of 6-7 centimeters of the bottom of the box.

Let's leave these blanks for now. Next, we cut out a rectangular hole in the base stand into which we, using superglue and soda, glue the back.

We process the edges of the cut hole with a file so that they become smooth.

Now you need to fix the back at the base, in any corner you need, and gain it.

Dripping second glue at the joints of the back and back and sprinkling this place with soda right there, we will easily grab the blanks to each other. It is only necessary to make all this from the inside of the future docking station, so that glue and soda do not spoil its appearance. Now, with the help of any pieces of plastic, glue and soda, thoroughly glue the back to the body.

By the way, if there are any inscriptions or logos on the case from its past destination - they are easily removed with gasoline for lighters and cotton swabs.

Now glue to the back the finished workpiece holders from the boxes. To do this, we put these holders on the sides of the phone, put it all on the back, mark the location of the holders with a marker, remove them from the phone and glue with second glue to the marked places on the back.

It remains to cut a hole for the microUSB plug.

To do this, install the phone in an almost ready-made docking station, mark with a marker the place where the phone’s charging jack contacts the surface of the case, and cut out a hole for the microUSB plug with a burner or soldering iron.
