Often when drilling holes, very high speeds are needed, but the bulk of the drills are not able to give them out. To do this, you can use a angle grinder (grinder), but just holding it in your hands will be very dangerous.
Therefore, the author proposes to make a device that will show the possibility of drilling holes using angle grinders in all its glory and in a safer way.
To create a home-made drill stand you will need a different type of metal, round timber, hardware and, of course, locksmith skills.
The main stages of work
At the beginning of the work, we will get strong and thick plates. We mark, according to the given sizes, a piece of the plate and drill two holes for future runners.
From a piece of round timber (or pipe), you need to cut out the guide for the runners and weld it in place of the holes.
We also take two small plates and install them so that the angle grinder is located exactly between them. And then we drill holes opposite the handle mount.
The next step is to assemble the bed. Also, as at the beginning, we mark out the plate, drill and weld two pieces of the round timber (tube), drill holes in them and cut the thread for the clamping bolts. And in the center we make a hole of arbitrary diameter.
We install the locking bolts in the upper part of the guide runners, having pre-drilled holes for them and cutting the thread of the desired diameter. A piece of metal with a hole for fixing the handle must be welded to the upper bed.
