The name of the homemade product speaks for itself - this device is intended for drawing parallel lines on a wooden (and metal) workpiece. On a professional slang, this drawing line is also called a T-square.
In the home workshop - a useful thing. Moreover, you can make this device with your own hands from simple materials. You will need a steel plate, a piece of a regular board or plywood and a metal ruler.
First of all, the master cuts off two identical bars from the board. Then, according to the size of the bars, it will still be necessary to cut a piece of a steel plate 10 mm thick. In this case, the master uses a brass plate.
The process of manufacturing the drawing line
In one of the wooden bars, the author, using a hand saw, cuts a transverse groove under a metal ruler. Then he processes the workpiece with a rasp, achieving the necessary depth of "landing".
At the next stage, the master glues two bars together, but the glue is applied only on one side. A brass plate is attached to the upper bar using liquid nails. You can also use ordinary Moment glue or epoxy glue.
Then the master processes the almost finished product on a grinding machine and drills a through hole in the place where the bars are not glued to each other. Inserts a bolt, fixes with a brass handle with internal thread.
